fun at the tunnel
hey last friday we headed up to the tunnel for our 1st proper team outing. what greated us was one of the most bizarre places i have ever been. i'm sure plenty people reading this have been to the tunnel, but for those who haven't, this place really is lost, in the middle of no-where with a real eerie feel about it . After what must be 1/2 a mile driving along a very muddy disused railway line you come to the mouth of a 1/4 mile victorian railway tunnel. encased like a fortress with huge steel gates. it really feels like you shouldn’t be there, like you are being watched..
once we were inside, we searched in the dark for the power cables left by nike 6.0 to hook up our generators. We fired them up & the tunnel lit up into the distance. truly amazing. Sadly what has been left behind by nike 6.0 is rapidly being hit by the lack of preparation in keeping out the damp, so the boys struggled to ride the place as it was intended (due to the ramps actually being wet & mouldy), this only 1 month after the nike Jam. I hope something can be done to prevent further decay as it is rapidly becoming un-rideable. that said we got some good footage for our team edit soon on the way. Here are a couple of photos taken by adam
